Aba Normal University was founded in 1978.
located in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, which is the main birthplace of the Red Army's fearless Long March spirit of "climbing snow mountains and crossing grasslands".
The school was originally located in Weizhou Town, Wenchuan County. After the May 12th Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, it was relocated to the ancient city of Pixian, Chengdu.
Tuanjie Two Towns and Pengzhou City's "One School and Three Districts" resumed classes in different places. In 2011, they relocated to Shuimo Town, Wenchuan County and were upgraded to undergraduate universities in 2015.
The school is organized by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and managed by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education.
There are currently 9831 full-time students on campus, including 8572 undergraduate students.
